Aaron Berg: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch
Who is Aaron Berg?
Aaron Berg is a New York City-based comedian, actor, and author who performs nearly every night in the city. He is known as the comic that has to close out shows — a reputation earned from a high laugh-per-minute density and sets that are never the same twice. He has an acting resume of over fifty projects spanning cult classic films, major studio productions, and television, and holds a world record for his stand-up documentary.
His film credits include the bartender in Detroit Rock City (1999), Jo Jo Rhama in The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (2009), a soldier in The Incredible Hulk (2008), Cork opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeff Daniels, and Isla Fisher in the Independent Spirit Award-winning The Lookout (2007), and a role in The Kitchen opposite Melissa McCarthy. He played DOT Foreman in Daredevil: Born Again (2025) and appeared in The Woman Before Me (2026). He made his Comedy Central debut on This Is Not Happening in 2016, which has over two million views, and appeared twice on AXS TV’s Live at Gotham. He appeared on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle Season 2. He hosted the podcasts Street Famous NYC, Modern Day Man, and The SDR Show on Gas Digital. He is the author of two books: Mr. Manners and American Etiquette. He has released six stand-up albums. His documentary 25 Sets, about stand-up comedy in New York City, is on Amazon. In May 2026, he is scheduled to tape a half-hour special for GaS Digital at The Creek and The Cave in Austin, Texas.
Aaron Berg’s Comedy Style
Berg is a high-density, fast-paced comedian whose sets pack more punchlines per minute than almost anyone on the circuit. The consistency that earned him the “has to close the show” reputation comes from relentless gigging — he performs in New York nearly every night, and that volume produces a precision that is audible in the material. The books and the podcast give him additional dimensions: someone who thinks carefully about comedy craft and culture even when he’s not on stage.
