Brian Scott McFadden: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch

Who is Brian Scott McFadden?

Brian Scott McFadden is a New York City-based comedian, actor, and voice actor who has been performing stand-up for over twenty-five years. Comedy runs in his family: his father Bob McFadden was a comedian and voice actor — the voice of Snarf on ThunderCats, among many other characters — and his grandfather performed in Vaudeville. Brian knew he wanted to be a comedian at age five.

He made his national television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman and followed with an appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He has also appeared on Star Search, MTV, and Comedy Central. He played the title role in Hamlet in New York, demonstrating a range that extends well beyond stand-up. He appeared in Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. As a voice actor, he has performed in the animated films Ice Age: The Meltdown with Ray Romano and Robots, and provided the voices of the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee, the M&M Peanut, and the Serta Mattress Sheep in national advertising campaigns. He co-created and hosts Current Offenses at West Side Comedy Club — a monthly show where comedians perform their best material, then compete with new material on suggested current event topics for a cash prize. He also teaches advanced stand-up comedy workshops. He performs regularly at Broadway Comedy Club, Greenwich Village Comedy Club, The Comic Strip Live, West Side Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club, and the Comedy Cellar.

Brian Scott McFadden’s Comedy Style

McFadden is a high-energy, animated comedian whose material is built on clever observations, sharp impressions, and a natural physical presence that reflects decades of stage work. The voice acting career and the Hamlet credit both point to the same thing: genuine craft across multiple performance disciplines. His self-deprecating interview answers — in which he claims his sets never work while describing drilling his material with the intensity of Steph Curry — reflect the comedian’s sensibility that keeps him performing every week.
