Chloe Hilliard: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch

Chloe Hilliard didn’t start her career in comedy—she started in journalism. That background shapes her approach to stand-up: she observes, questions, and reports her findings with the precision of a trained writer. Now, as both a comedian and Emmy-nominated television writer, she’s built a multifaceted career that proves comedy and journalism share more than you’d think.

Who is Chloe Hilliard?

Chloe Hilliard is a writer, comedian, and Emmy-nominated television producer. Born and raised in Brooklyn in a large Hasidic Jewish neighborhood, Hilliard spent a decade as a culture and entertainment journalist before transitioning fully into comedy. During her journalism career, she wrote for prestigious outlets including The Village Voice, Essence, Vibe, King, and The Source—publications that shaped cultural discourse.

As a television writer and producer, Hilliard has earned three Emmy nominations, demonstrating her ability to contribute meaningfully to scripted and produced content. She’s also an accomplished author, having written “F*ck Your Diet,” and has released a stand-up comedy album titled “Big Dick Energy.”

In stand-up, Hilliard made her late-night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She appeared on “This Week at the Comedy Cellar” (which aired Fridays at 11/10c on Comedy Central from 2018-2020) in four episodes, discussing topics ranging from her background in journalism to the experiences of living with her much younger brother.
