Who is Daniel Simonsen?
Daniel Simonsen is a Norwegian/Chilean stand-up comedian and writer from Bergen, Norway. He began performing stand-up in 2004 in his native country, but recognized that to truly pursue his comedy dreams on an international scale, he needed to relocate. He moved to London to progress his career, a decision that proved prescient. Since 2009, he’s been a fixture at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, one of the world’s most important comedy venues.
In 2012, Simonsen won the prestigious Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer—a recognition that validated his unique comedic voice and established him as a comedian to watch. His credentials extend to major U.S. television appearances: he performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2019 and made his U.S. late-night debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
