Eleanor Kerrigan: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch
Who is Eleanor Kerrigan?
Eleanor J. Kerrigan is originally from Philadelphia and is one of ten children. She got her start in show business as a professional wrestler and commentator with WOW: Women of Wrestling, where she wrestled from 2000 to 2019. Her transition into stand-up comedy happened at the legendary Comedy Store in Los Angeles, where she began as a waitress and honed her stage presence watching the best comedians in the world work every night.
She became a paid regular at the Comedy Store and hosts the Monday Potluck open mic at the club. She is the co-host of The Comedy Store Podcast with Rick Ingraham. She appeared on Bill Burr Presents: The Ringers on Comedy Central. She has appeared in a guest role on Entourage and on Comics Unleashed (2025). She is a close friend of Andrew Dice Clay and has toured with him. She has performed at the Comedy Mothership in Austin, the Hollywood Improv, and Laugh Factory Las Vegas, among other major venues. She is based in Los Angeles but performs across the country.
Eleanor Kerrigan’s Comedy Style
Kerrigan’s comedy is direct, physical, and built on the kind of self-aware honesty that comes from someone who has competed professionally in a ring in front of crowds and then transitioned to making those same crowds laugh. The wrestling background is not decorative — it produced a performer who knows how to read a room, hold an audience’s attention, and recover from anything. She is a comedian’s comedian in the sense that she has been doing the work in the room for decades, at one of the most demanding clubs in the business, every week.
