He was a staff writer for The Late Late Show with James Corden, wrote for NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!, the ESPYs, and Wieden+Kennedy’s Lost in McDonaldland YouTube series. He was a Story Editor on Seth MacFarlane’s animated TV series Ted. He has opened for national headliners including Ronny Chieng, Ilana Glazer, Iliza Shlesinger, Tom Papa, and Hannah Berner. Fumi Abe’s Comedy Style
Abe is a precise, quick-witted comedian whose writing background is visible in the structure of his material — jokes that are economical and layered, with tags that reward paying attention. The combination of late-night writing credits (Corden, Colbert, NPR) and stand-up performance credits (Fallon, Just for Laughs New Faces) reflects a comedian who works at the craft from both directions simultaneously.
