Jordan Jensen: Netflix Star, Feminist Provocateur, and Comedy’s Favorite Freak

Jordan Jensen doesn’t want your approval. In her comedy, she strips away the polished versions of womanhood that society peddles and shows you what’s underneath: failure, disgust, contradiction, and an ongoing refusal to pretend that being a person is anything short of humiliating. She’s the kind of comedian who makes you laugh so hard at something dark that you question whether you’re a good person. Then she’ll make you laugh again.

Who is Jordan Jensen?

Jensen made history in 2021 by becoming the first female comic to win NY’s Funniest Stand-Up at the New York Comedy Festival—a landmark recognition in a male-dominated field. In 2025, she released her debut hour-long special on Netflix, Take Me With You, directed by Eric Abrams. The special premiered to critical attention and showcased the range of her comedic vision, from sexual dysfunction to the impossible contradictions of modern femininity to the beautiful weirdness of having an ADHD brain.

Before the Netflix moment, Jensen built a devoted following through tireless touring. She has opened for Tom Segura and Louis C.K., headlining sold-out rooms across the country. She previously released the half-hour special Death Chunk on YouTube and self-produced her own material—a DIY ethos that still runs through her work today.

Jordan Jensen’s Comedy Style

Jensen describes her own audience as “all freaks,” and she leans into that identity fully. She once said: “Because my audience is all freaks, but I need nonfreaks to see it so they can feel freaky for an hour.” Her comedy is an invitation to discomfort, to laughter in places you didn’t expect to find it, and to the recognition that everyone is broken in interesting ways.

She mines her own life—failed attempts at femininity, her relationship with her body, the chaos of untreated ADHD, the logistics of casual sex—and transforms everyday humiliation into something both painfully honest and hilarious. There’s no redemption arc, no lesson to learn. Just the truth: being a person is grotesque, and we’re all pretending it’s adorable.

What Fans and Fellow Comedians Say

Since winning NY’s Funniest, Jensen has become one of the most sought-after voices in comedy. Her Netflix special earned strong viewership and press attention for its unflinching honesty. In interviews promoting Take Me With You, she spoke candidly about her comedy’s mission: to make space for the parts of womanhood and humanity that polite society ignores.
