Lynne Koplitz: From Change of Heart to Netflix Royalty
Who is Lynne Koplitz?
Lynne Koplitz is a pioneering stand-up comedian who has built a career on fearless, honest comedy. She hosted the nationally syndicated dating show Change of Heart and was a guest host on NBC’s Later. She’s also co-hosted shows including Food Network’s How to Boil Water and Sony Pictures’ Life and Style—work that showcases her versatility beyond stand-up.
A major milestone in her career came when she became the first woman since Roseanne Barr to sign a development deal with legendary producer Tom Werner at Warner Brothers. She had a half-hour special on Comedy Central, Comedy Central Presents: Lynne Koplitz, and in 2017 released her first Netflix special, Hormonal Beast, which was received with critical praise. She’s also worked in television, appearing on the IFC cult favorite Z Rock and the WeTV series Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best.
Lynne Koplitz’s Comedy Style
Koplitz’s comedy is rooted in personal experience and observation. Her Netflix special title, Hormonal Beast, gives a sense of her willingness to tackle subjects that other comedians might shy away from. She brings vulnerability and honesty to her work, and her audiences respond to that authenticity.
What Fans and Fellow Comedians Say
The fact that she was deemed worthy of a Tom Werner development deal—an honor shared with very few female comedians—speaks to the respect she’s earned in the industry. Her Netflix special and regular appearances at comedy clubs across the country continue to build her fanbase.
