Who is Michael Rowland?

Michael Rowland is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and is now based in New York City. He is a stand-up comedian and actor who has been described as one of the fastest-rising comedians in New York. He is one of the youngest comedians to have been passed at the Comedy Cellar. He has opened for Rory Scovel, Bruce Bruce, Big Jay Oakerson, John Crist, and Theo Von.

He stars as Shred in the FOX comedy Animal Control alongside Joel McHale, which aired its third season in 2025. He made his late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He was honored as a New Face at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal in 2022. He has been featured multiple times on Comedy Central’s This Week at the Comedy Cellar. He appeared on Stupid Questions with Chris DiStefano and Pause with Sam Jay on HBOMax. He was a finalist in the New York Comedy Festival’s “New York’s Funniest Stand Up” competition in 2019. He has a Comedy Central Digital feature set. He hosts the podcast In The Minivan and co-hosts the monthly show Laughodills in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
