Mike Cannon: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch

Who is Mike Cannon?

Mike Cannon is a New York City-based comedian, podcaster, writer, and actor who has headlined some of the world’s most iconic venues, including a sold-out performance at Gramercy Theatre in his hometown. He is a Comedy Cellar regular and one of the most active touring comedians on the circuit — a self-described lifer who has performed in clubs, bars, casinos, elevators (twice), parking lots, rooftops, on a fake beach in front of a freight train, and in technically-legal underground speakeasies.

His stand-up specials are all on YouTube: Life Begins (2020, named one of Laugh Button’s Top 35 Comedy Specials of 2020), Huge Mistake (2022, a crowd work special filmed on edibles), White Privilege Homeless (2022), and Traumatized Animal (September 2024, presented by Chris Distefano). He co-hosts the Chrissy Chaos podcast with Chris Distefano and has been a regular guest on The Jim Norton and Sam Roberts Show, KFC Radio, The Bonfire with Big Jay Oakerson and Dan Soder, and Barstool Radio on Sirius/XM. He was a contributing producer, writer, and panelist for ViceTV’s Super Maximum Retro Show with Chris Distefano. He has appeared on Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, TruTV’s Greatest Ever and Top Funniest, MTV’s Failosophy, FOX’s Red Eye, and Barstool Sports’ Friday Night Pints. He starred as the lead in the feature film Timing, available on Amazon Prime. He hosts the digital series Heads Up with Mike Cannon, Mike Takes Edibles, and Existential Dad.

Mike Cannon’s Comedy Style

Cannon is a high-energy, crowd-forward comedian whose material ranges across personal experience, current events, and the particular texture of being a New York City lifer who has seen the comedy world change completely since he started. The edibles crowd work special is a good entry point: it shows what he can do when the safety net is removed and the show depends entirely on reading the room in real time.
