Mike Vecchione: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch

Who is Mike Vecchione?

Mike Vecchione grew up in Ohio and South Florida, attended Penn State where he wrestled and tutored student athletes, graduated with a degree in criminal justice, moved to Philadelphia in 1995, and spent years counseling adjudicated teens and children with mental health issues before earning his master’s in Special Education from Cabrini College in 2001 and teaching special education in Philadelphia public and residential schools. He started doing stand-up in Philadelphia, built his reputation there, then moved to New York where he has performed in the city’s clubs for over twenty years.

He has made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and has appeared on Netflix, Hulu, Comedy Central, and Conan. He appeared in the film The King of Staten Island starring Pete Davidson. He was a featured guest on The Joe Rogan Experience. His stand-up special The Attractives was directed and produced by Nate Bargatze. His second special, Low Income White, was released by Nateland Entertainment in July 2025. He co-hosts the podcast Macaroni Rascals with Greg Stone and performs most nights at the Comedy Cellar, Gotham Comedy Club, and Broadway Comedy Club when not on the road. His 2026 tour includes the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin and the Comedy Mothership.

Mike Vecchione’s Comedy Style

Vecchione is a punchline-heavy, joke-dense New York-style comedian with a former special education teacher’s precision and a calm, surgical delivery that sneaks up on you. Dave Attell called him one of the best joke writers working — which is the most specific endorsement available in the comedy world, because Attell doesn’t say it about everyone. The wrestling and special ed background are not incidental: he is methodical, patient, and good at reading people, which are exactly the skills the Cellar rewards.
