Regina DeCicco: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch

Who is Regina DeCicco?

Regina DeCicco is a New York City-based comedian, actress, and writer who spent years working behind the scenes in television before stepping in front of the camera. She worked for five seasons in the Design Department at Saturday Night Live and one season on Whoopi Goldberg’s NBC sitcom Whoopi before transitioning to stand-up full time. She is a graduate of Barnard College and was asked to return as the keynote speaker for their Senior Class Dinner. She won the Ladies of Laughter Competition in 2012. She was voted Lower Hudson Valley’s Funniest Person in 2011.

She is the warm-up comedian for ABC’s The View, a role that puts her in front of a live studio audience every day. ABC News sent her to warm up audiences for President Biden’s and President Trump’s Town Halls in Pennsylvania, as well as before the Democratic Presidential Debate in New Hampshire in 2020. She has warmed up the NBC Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting for multiple years and both of Showtime’s Funny Women of a Certain Age comedy specials. She is a guest contributor to The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM. She made her television stand-up debut in October 2014 on AXS-TV’s Gotham Comedy Live and has been featured on FOX TV’s Laughs. She has performed at the Nantucket Comedy Festival, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, the Asheville Comedy Festival, and the Women in Comedy Festival in Boston. She is a Comedy Cellar regular. Her original musical comedy The New World premiered at Bucks County Playhouse in 2017. She is a regular performer at the Friars Club and has opened for Gilbert Gottfried and others.

Regina DeCicco’s Comedy Style

DeCicco’s comedy is warm, physical, and built from a perspective that spans the insider world of television production and the performer’s world of the stage — she has been in both rooms and knows how each one works. The warm-up role at The View requires a particular skill: cold audience, unknown energy, no prepared material that works for every day. That daily requirement for adaptability shows in her stand-up.
