Ryan Long: Bio, Comedy Style, and Where to Watch
Who is Ryan Long?
Ryan Long was born on August 12, 1985, in Toronto, Canada. He moved to New York City in 2019 and has since become a staple of the NYC club scene. Before the move, he built a substantial Canadian career: he created, starred in, and showran Torontopia and That Guy for CBC Comedy, created and starred in Ryan Long Is Challenged for Bite TV (nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards), and hosted Crown the Town with Ryan Long on Rogers TV. He appeared on Netflix, NBC, and MTV, and performed at Just for Laughs, NXNE, and Sirius XM’s Top Comic competition.
In New York, his viral digital sketches and street interviews accumulated billions of views across social platforms — the scale that comes from finding the right angle on cultural and political absurdity at exactly the right moment. His stand-up specials include White Immigrant (2024). He hosts The Boyscast with Ryan Long, a popular podcast. He has appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, Bertcast, Flagrant, and Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast. He headlines clubs across North America and has co-hosted The Boyscast with fellow comedian Danny Polishchuk.
Ryan Long’s Comedy Style
Long’s comedy is observational and satirical — he has a particular eye for the social and political dynamics where everyone is performing their affiliations and no one is quite saying what they actually think. The viral sketch format he mastered works because the premise is instantly recognizable and the execution is precise. On stage, the same instincts produce fast, dense stand-up that moves quickly through ideas without losing the crowd.
