Who is Sydnee Washington?

Sydnee Washington was born in Brooklyn, New York, spent her childhood in Oakland, California, and moved back to Brooklyn at age thirteen. Before pursuing comedy full-time, she worked at a high-end cocktail lounge in New York City, where a friend filmed her bantering with customers, edited the footage into a reel, and convinced her to try stand-up. She started performing in 2013 and was named an Up Next comedian by Comedy Central in 2018.

She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for her role as Judith in the web series Bridesman. She received a WGA Award for her writing contributions to Inside Amy Schumer. She has appeared in Search Party on TBS. Her debut stand-up special LOL Live with Sydnee Washington, executive produced by Kevin Hart, was released on Hulu in 2025 — covering her experiences working as a bottle girl at a nightclub, marriage, and motherhood. She co-hosted the podcast The Unofficial Expert with Marie Faustin, and they reunited in 2024 for a new podcast, Mess, on the Big Money Players Network. She co-hosted the Sunday night Knitting Factory comedy showcase with Marie Faustin and Aminah Imani, originally started by Hannibal Buress. She hosted the weekly Instagram Live cooking show Syd Can Cook during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is based in Brooklyn.
